The intervention involved the conservative restoration of the ancient Monastery of the Apparition, a building of great historical importance for the island and for Venice itself. Built around the Sanctuary that gives it its name - and which still continues to be the destination of numerous pilgrims - the building has in fact distinguished itself since its origin for its architectural quality and for the centrality of the role played in the life of the island, aspects that can be found in its fascinating position: overlooking both the sea and the lagoon, it is the only building on the island that completely covers its width. The apartment has been studied down to the smallest detail to obtain the maximum "livable" surface. It is lit by two large dormer windows and consists of a dining/living room with kitchenette, one/two sleeping areas and a bathroom with dressing room. The complex is located on a large outdoor area overlooking both the Venetian Lagoon, where it is possible to dock private boats, and the sea, with access to a large beach almost exclusively. Different in size and architectural details, the 35 apartments are built with quality materials and construction techniques that are fully consistent with the excellence of the building. On the lagoon side, the building also has a large green area for a private garden, internal condominium parking and a dock with the possibility of a boat port. The task for the new restoration project was entrusted to the well-known architect Alessandro Scarpa of Venice who, after years of study, research, meetings and in close collaboration with the architects of the Superintendence of Fine Arts and Landscape, managed to obtain the difficult authorization from all the control and protection bodies to allocate it to prestigious residences. With the restoration, the characteristic elements of the complex have been recovered and enhanced, in particular the internal garden with its ancient Venetian Well. It is the ideal place to spend moments of absolute peace and relaxation. Connected to the center of Venice and the Lido by bus/ferry service and easily reachable from Chioggia, the island of Pellestrina has managed to maintain over time, with its 4,000 inhabitants, the ancient characteristics of a fishing village. Here everything is slow, relaxing: even the passage of time.
